Objective

Development of business-oriented software in a professional, qualitative, and methodical manner. Interested in software projects developed according an iterative software process, performing the roles of software analyst, software architect, and process engineer.

Job with sufficient new challenges keeping work interesting, engaging, and instructive. Working in a team and pleasant work sphere with the necessary possibilities to further build out horizontal career in software development.

1983 - 1984  INCIR, Haasrode, Belgium - IC Designer

  • After finishing studies of Industrial Engineer Electronics, started as designer of ICs at INCIR.
  • Developed a software application in PASCAL for improved interpretation of IC simulation results.

1984 - 1988  Barco-BarcoVision, Kortrijk, Belgium - Systems Engineer - Project Manager

  • Started working at the BarcoVision division, first as systems engineer, later as project manager.
  • Developed and installed Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) applications for textile companies.
  • Worked for customers in Belgium, Germany, India, and the United States.

1989 - 1999  Barco-BarcoVision, Kortrijk, Belgium - Software Developer - Project Manager

  • After return to Belgium from a three-year stay in the United States, function evolved towards a software development function.
  • Developed standard modules for CIM applications in the textiles and plastics industries.
  • Developed communication system for real-time exchange of machine information.

2000 - 2001  Barco-BarcoVision, Kortrijk, Belgium - Software Architect – Process Engineer

  • Software architect and process engineer of the CIM software team.
  • Responsible for the alignment and architecture of different CIM applications.
  • Responsible for the introduction and application of an object-oriented development process.

  • Project manager of CIM applications for spinning mills.
  • Main objective was to put an out-of-control software development project back on the rails.
  • Was accomplished by setting up a controlled development environment and introducing a development process.
  • Also actively participated in the development of new components.

  • Since September 2004 working at the Barco Media & Entertainment division.
  • Development of a Java application for the configuration of LED display systems.
  • Development of a content management and scheduling application for LED display systems.
